ACCESS Training week (15th – 20th May 2011)

The Transnational Innovation Management Training took place in Steyr, Austria and was organized by CATT Innovation Management GmbH. Learning, the exchange of good practises and working on the next steps were the aims which were successfully achieved.

The week started with a poster session presenting an overview of each region. During the first three days the partners were coached by Dr. Manfred Ninaus in the fields of “Firm-level Innovation Management” and “Regional Innovation Systems”. Some of the main topics were: Strategy of Innovation, Organization & Culture Innovation as well as Knowledge and technology transfer and Service Design. During group work different creativity methods were exercised.On Thursday the group visited PROFACTOR, an R&D institution focusing on Mechatronics, Energy and Nanosciences. Further good practice methods and tools for Regional Innovation Systems from every region were presented during the week and their transferability discussed. In Module 4 the peer-review methodology was explained by Agnes Frank. Afterwards the sector groups (Food, Biotechnology and Mechatronics) had time to discuss their approaches for WP5. On the last day of the training Dr. Markus Riester, who works as a Technology Consultant to industry and academia, introduced the technique of Technology Roadmapping (TRM). To sum up, this well organized training week gave a great overview about Innovation Management as a framework for the elaboration of the methodology to be implemented under WP5 (peer reviews) as a next step.
